It is always nice to learn about an organization that helps others, especially when it involves using multilingual skills to combat poverty.
Found in Translation isn’t just a catchy phrase. It is the name of an organization that is dedicated to helping low-income and/or homeless women use their bilingual skills to train for and build careers as interpreters. This 12-week certificate program is not only free for the participants, but the organization also offers assistance with childcare and transportation.
Careers in interpretation are expected to continue to have strong growth and salary levels. The benefits of this program are mutual: the women will benefit from skills training and a stable income while professionals and individuals for whom they interpret will benefit from a valuable service.
