Madison, WI USA – October 14, 2008 – Peter Argondizzo of Argo Translation, a Chicago-based translation and localization company with a network of more than 800 professional translators, took the podium along with Gerald Salisbury, head of translation and localization for SMA Solar Technology at the recent Localization World Conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of solar inverters, SMA Solar Technology manages over 3,000 translation projects annually using 19 different service providers, five internal translators and 25 freelancers. Mr. Salisbury reviewed progress recently completed toward implementing a full supply chain management system for their translation needs.
During his presentation, Peter Argondizzo explained Argo’s design requirements for creating a new secure, platform that integrated their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with an advanced Translation Management System (TMS) to form an end-to-end supply chain management solution for its clients. These technologies, combined with ISO-based quality control procedures, form the basis for a new approach to providing translations to companies in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in a way that automatically provides audit trail reports across the full spectrum of translation and review activities thereby insuring conformance to the client’s SOP.
