Repetition, repetition, repetition. While it can be dull in conversation, repetition in your source files actually saves you time and money when Argo handles your translation. By incorporating terminology management software tools into the translation process, we take advantage of repeated words and phrases throughout your files, and pass the savings on to you.
How does it work? Computer aided translation (CAT) tools enable us to extract text from source files and place it in an application that allows translators to closely manage the terminology. This means that after they translate repeating and similar terms or phrases once, they can be consistently applied throughout your project without retranslation. After the terminology database has been fully translated, it is re-imported to the desired application, followed by a desktop publishing check.
A short list of the main benefits of CAT tools includes:
Streamlined translation process, resulting in faster time to market
Increased consistency in terminology use
Decreased volume of translation, resulting in lower costs
Time and cost savings in future projects due to electronic “translation memory” re-use.
Glossary generation, a convenient list of terms reflecting your terminology preferences
Our project managers provide the service of managing your content at no extra cost to the project!
Argo’s translators have proficiency in the major terminology management software applications, including: SDLX, SDL Insight, SDL Termbase online, RCWintrans, Trados and Catalyst.
