Many companies are following a model of letting their users provide translations for the user interface of their web-based products through crowdsourced translation. Beside the obvious issues of control of the content and quality, I have an economic concern over this practice. (more…)
A relatively new buzz-word, crowdsourcing was termed in 2006 as the “the act of taking a task traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people, in the form of an open call (source: Wikipedia). (more…)
