How to implement special characters in crossWeb

Typically you can superscript or subscript special characters in crossWeb by using the icons in the toolbar above the crossDesk editor window. However, some file types that are XML or HTML based do not allow for that type of formatting.

You will know this is the case if the superscript/subscript icons are missing from the toolbar. The image below shows the icons when they are present.

The solution is to use the ASCII key combinations to enter your special character. You can see a list of ASCII key combinations on this site.

So for example, if you wanted to enter a Trademark symbol you would hold down the Alt key and enter 0174 on your numeric pad. A superscript 2 would be Alt + 0178. A TM mark would be Alt + 0153.
